Project 2 - Exhibition Booth

For this project, the lecturer asked us to pair in a group. We had to design an exhibition booth and present it in 3D model form using any type of 3D softwares that we want. The product that we choose was YES by YTL a telecommunication company from Malaysia.

These are some of our first references of exhibition booths :-

Hewlett Packard
Frico
Nokia
Sony Ericsson
These are just some of our early reference as we will find more for this project.

Form follow function, Function follow form

Form follow function, Function follow form is a concept used in designing, but is usually used in modern architecture and industrial design. Form follow function can be best described in vehicle design such as cars, motorbikes, ships or airplanes. As an example, the bottom of a boat was designed to be narrow so that it can withstand the pressure of the sea water making it faster by slicing the water. This designed was not just simply made, it was made for a function so that the form follow the function.

Form of a boat.

On the other hand, function follow form is just the twist of the form follow function. It can be best described in product designs. As an example the image below showing a design of an interior home product which was designed so its function followed its form. Its function was to reduce the use of space. So, its function can be said that it followed its form.
